Our country is experiencing a crisis among its most vulnerable group – our children.
More than 680,000 children are abused or neglected every year, and more than 1,500 die as a result. Most of these deaths are at the hands of their parents.
Many Americans are unaware of the prevalence of child abuse in this country. It is our hope at Shepherding the Next Generation that we raise awareness of this serious issue.
Every April, churches across the U.S. dedicate part of their service to praying for victims of child abuse and neglect and their rescuers, and for God to reveal to us what we can do to be a part of the solution. This movement is called National Blue Sunday Day of Prayer.
